Oregon State Fair Photography Exhibits

Of the seven photographs I submitted to the Oregon State Fair, five of them were accepted for display. I entered five photographs in the Oregon Salon of Photography, three in the color division and two in the monochrome division. All three of my color images were accepted for display. Duck in Flight earned 18 points and The Pickup Man earned 19 points. My photo Balancing Act received 20 points and an honorable mention.
I had one monochrome image accepted and one rejected. Path of Serenity received a score of only 10, but Spinning Cattail received 15 points, enough to make the cut for display.
In the International Exhibit I had one photo accepted and one rejected. City in Reflection received a score of 18 while A Disappearing Act received a measly 12.
For my first time submitting photos for the State Fair I think I did pretty well. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed. I though all of my photos were good enough to be exhibited. I also thought I might have one that was good enough to win, but I can’t complain about an honorable mention.
This process was a good learning experience and I look forward to seeing my photos exhibited.
